Came across an interesting snippet in the Guardian this week, about ‘slow blogging’, defined as “an affirmation that not all things worth reading are written quickly”. I think there’s some truth in that. As I am away for a week I’ll leave you with this image ‘Tortoise takes a rest’ by “jayRaz” from Flickr Creative Commons.

Lis ParcellNew JISCmail list for Higher Education

Friday, November 7th, 2008

RSC Wales now has its own dedicated JISCmail list for Higher Education staff, at www.jiscmail.ac.uk/rsc-wales-higher-ed. For some time now, RSC Wales has gathered a wide range of useful contacts around Wales (and beyond!) all with a common interest: the enhancement of teaching and learning using technology in Welsh HE. Our contacts range from interested academics through learning technologists, IT and library staff, project managers and many others. We’ve long had a general JISCmail list www.jiscmail.ac.uk/elearning-wales but we decided it was high time we gave our HE contacts their own list. So here it is: RSC-WALES-HIGHER-ED and it will allow us to keep our HE contacts more quickly and fully informed on things important to them.

The list will primarily be for RSC Wales to send carefully-targetted announcements on things like funding opportunities, job opportunities, resources, services and projects. However it is also open to any list member to send relevant information or queries of interest to HE staff in Wales.

The list will complement our other communication channels including our blogs and website. If you’d like to be added to RSC-WALES-HIGHER-ED, just go to www.jiscmail.ac.uk/rsc-wales-higher-ed and click on ‘join’. You can control your own subscription at any time, as with any other JISCmail list. Any queries or comments please let us know!
